In 2009 the Black Rock Mine (ASSMANG) situated near Kuruman in the Northern Cape could not sustain sufficient production due to the Irregular Power Supply received from
ESKOM. MegaHVT provided a solution in the form of a 14MW Diesel Standby Generator Set.
It was one of the first
Installations in the area that synchronised directly to the
ESKOM Network. The Project Scope included the Design,
Procurement and Commissioning of 11x 1.3MW Containerized
Generators and Fuel Supply with 11 Step Up Transformers
(400V/22kV) and associated 22kV Indoor Substation.
